ABE LEVEL 7 (POSTGRADUATE) DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT — (QCF 7)

Why study the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management?
The ABE Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (QCF) offers students enhanced career prospects as well as the opportunity to progress to Masters degree programmes at numerous universities worldwide.
This Ofqual accredited Level 7 qualification has been developed by senior university professors, utilising current academic learning and research, as well as employer knowledge and practice. It is therefore an ideal progression route for those who:
¨ are currently studying professional qualifications and wish to proceed to a Masters degree in business/management
¨ have a related Honours degree but wish to proceed to a Masters level business management qualification
¨ are in employment at managerial level and wish to achieve a Masters level qualification
Students may take the programme independently (private self-study), or through a college which has been accredited by ABE to deliver the Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management.
The Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management is comprised of five units. As can be seen below, only Strategic Management and Planning is assessed by examination, which is externally marked by ABE. The other four units are each assessed by a written assignment of approximately 3,500 words, which is internally marked by your college or by Management Approaches and moderated by ABE.
Please note: it can take up to two months between receipt of a college or Management Approaches-marked assignment at ABE and the issue of a final moderated result.
Both the examination and assignments are marked out of 100 and carry equal weighting. In order to be awarded a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma, you must achieve a pass mark of 40% or above in all five units.
A student must fulfil at least one of the following criteria to be allowed entry to the programme
Possession of the ABE’s Advanced Diploma in Business Management or Business Administration*
Possession of an ABE Advanced Diploma in another subject*.
Possession of an honours degree in a related subject.
Possession of a level 6 qualification from another internationally recognized awarding body.
Five years senior management experience (students must check with ABE regarding this experience prior to registering for the course)
Note that a student may progress to the Postgraduate Diploma if he/she has one unit of the Advanced Diploma yet to be passed, but cannot be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma until subsequently passing the remaining Advanced Diploma unit.
